Ski Trips

It's almost that time of year
To break out snowboarding gear
Remember to keep ski trips green
And help keep the mountain clean.

Eco-Vacations

As you make plans for the upcoming snow season, make sure your annual ski trip's a green one. Here are a few ideas on how to keep your carbon footprint as small as possible.

  • Don't litter and stay on all the marked areas along ski runs. Make sure to leave the slopes as you found them and not to disturb wildlife along the trails.
  • Green Snowboards have recently hit the shelves at your local ski and snow shops. Made from bamboo (a more renewable resource) and available in gorgeous natural designs, bamboo snowboards are not only a great ride, but are also unbelievably cool.
  • Eco-friendly ski resorts are popping up all over the nation. Vail Resorts, the company behind many major ski resorts in Colorado, and Heavenly, in California, keep their facilities running by making a commitment to using wind farms.
