Cell Phones for Soldiers
Fighting far across the sea, No contact with their families, Donate your old cell phone To let a soldier call home.
Call of Duty
Cell Phones for Soldiers is a non-profit organization that turns your old cell phones into useable minutes of prepaid calling cards for U.S. soldiers stationed overseas. Sacrificing their lives and time with their families, our troops deserve to at least be provided with the means to contact their loved ones.
- Donated cell phones are sold to a recycling company called ReCellular. Recycling is important seeing that Americans replace an estimated 130 million cell phones each year.
- Cell Phone donation is simple and free. Printable postage paid shipping labels are provided and/or money can be directly donated via a check, money order, or online with a credit card.
- Drop-off of cell phones is convenient and easy. There are over 40,000 registered drop-off locations throughout the country which can easily be found on the organization's website.
- Specific soldiers can be requested so that they may be given prepaid calling cards. This is the only way to get the addresses for needy troops because the Department of Defense abides by a policy of never giving out information about deployed service people.
Cell Phones for Soldiers is the official website of the organization and provides detailed information on donation methods, locations, and other relevant details.
ReCellular is responsible for the recycling of the organization's donated cell phones and is the world's largest recycler and reseller of used cell phones.
