Water Conservation
Even though it may seem basic, one of the best things you can do for the environment is remember to always save water whenever and wherever possible. Follow a few simple tips to keep water usage down around your home.
- Taking shorter showers is one of the easiest ways to dramatically lower your own personal water usage. Try and cut your shower time down by a few minutes and save gallons of water in the process. Take it a step further by putting a bucket in the corner of your shower to collect grey water and use later to water flowers or plants.
- Use full loads only when running the dishwasher or washing machine. If you're going to run an appliance (hopefully Energy Star) than make sure it's completely full and you're getting the most use from each run of water.
- Try a waterless carwash when cleaning off the wheels on the weekend. Get everything you need to clean the interior and exterior without being wasteful. You'll be keeping water usage to as minimum while also getting a sparkly clean ride.
